Motivational Quote: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. MLK-Jr."
My Interpretation: How a person steps up to perform under pressure (competitively) is an excellent gauge of character. They don't always have to win as long as they never give up.
Nutrition Tip: Eat More Lean Protein. You can't go wrong with some extra muscle building protein like eggs, chicken, fish or cottage cheese when you're training hard. Increase your protein intake for about a week (or two) and see if you notice a (positive) difference in how you look, feel and perform.
Coaching Tip: Retract your Scapula (shoulder blades). Most people possess overdeveloped anterior muscles that round the shoulders and pull them inward. It's this faulty posture/positioning that commonly leads to shoulder (specifically the rotator cuff) injuries. Start focusing on retracting your scapula, especially during all "pulling" movements to immediately improve your posture and performance.
Healthy Habit: Floss (your teeth) daily. Bad oral hygiene can contribute to a multitude of illnesses all with long term health complications. Plus, who wants to be known as someone that has bad breath?
